Kertios deployed an integrated ERP solution for a World leader in laboratory testing, inspection and certification services.

Client selected Kertios to deploy JD Edwards E1 globally with keeping the current principles of an integration with Local ERP accounting system.
This approach kept a standard deployment of JD Edwards E1 without any localizations and with keeping the specific local accounting features into local accounting systems.

Implementation of JD Edwards E1 Core model was carried out as part of an ambitious deployment project and covered 5 countries (more than 10 branches) in CIS and Europe.
Implementation with integration mechanisms was executed in 4 waves. Initially established schedule underestimated the complexity and scope of the deployment project. However, Kertios teams were able to deliver expected solution according to the project schedule by prioritizing business critical functionalities.

The functional scope of current deployment covers Order Management, Project Management, Finance Management and Integration mechanisms with Local ERP accounting systems and JD Edwards E1.

Lessons learned

  • The inclusion of impacted applications/processes in the initial project scope permitted a broader vision of the project for a more accurate assessment of the project architecture.

  • Confirmation of resources and capabilities of teams, who supported other programs included to project scope, allowed to move forward smoothly with project activities execution in case of parallel projects.

  • Recognition that, for countries where there are no integration flows, more time was required for development of integration flows from scratch allowed to execute project activities in expected timelines.
