Kertios designed and managed a project to implement a Salesforce/Netsuite global platform for a large, publicly traded international company (FTSE100).

As part of the operational merger following a significant acquisition, the client wanted to streamline its multiple tools and computer systems onto a single, global platform (Core System).

After a first attempt led by a major consulting firm was abandoned, the Audit Committee of the Shareholders Committee entrusted us with implementing a new project that would deliver the solution desired by the business and the market.

The chosen platform was based on Salesforce products (Marketing and Sales Clouds with Pardot, CPQ, and Tableau) for the front office and Netsuite/Oracle for the back office. The Kertios International team also provided localization of the solution for Russia.

Lessons learned

  • A significant work program - 800 internal/external people involved over 30 months - where the difficulty of aligning business models and internal practices weighed on the project, particularly on pricing subjects (CPQ Module), sales compensation model, Master Data Management, and reporting.

  • The main functional challenge was to integrate Salesforce and NetSuite around the notion of pre-order.

  • Data migration and integration testing required many iterations before they were satisfactory to allow for a successful go-live and ensure a Big Bang kick-off.
